TREE FORT

Designed by Todd | Mohr Architects, Tree Fort centers on an addition that extends the home into its wooded site through a large, steel-supported deck with black locust decking. An inventive single-support steel-stringer staircase provides access to the bluestone patio below while maintaining a light footprint and a strong connection to the landscape. Inside, the dining room ceiling was vaulted to accommodate dramatic new fenestration, bringing daylight deeper into the home and reinforcing the project’s relationship to its sloping site.
